Aftercare Instructions
- Do not get your extensions wet for the first 24 hours while the eyelash adhesive is curing. Any moisture such as water, high humidity or steam will over cure the lash adhesive making it brittle. The eyelash extensions may fall off very quickly.
- Keep your lashes clean. Use designated lash cleanser daily, preferably morning and night, to gently clean your lashes from body oils and makeup. These substances will break down the adhesive causing premature eyelash extension loss. If lashes are not kept clean, conditions such as blepharitis, styes, and lash mites can occur.
- Do not run your face under hot shower water and be careful around high heat such as ovens, grills and lighters. Your lashes may be singed and the tips disfigured.
- Dry your lashes with a hand held fan or a hairdryer set to cool while brushing at the same time with a clean mascara wand.
- Do not use oil based products or creams on or around your eyes. These will breakdown the adhesive.
- Brush eyelash extensions several times a day to keep them fluffy and neat.
- Do not rub, pick or pull at your lashes. This will cause pain and premature loss of your natural lashes leading to bald spots in your lash line.
- Do not sleep on your face. Lashes that come in contact with your pillow will be rubbed out in your sleep. Back is best! Sleeping with an eye mask will also help with the longevity of your eyelash extensions.
- Do not use mascara. Liquid or gel eyeliner should also be avoided. Residues from these products will get in and around the extensions causing buildup that will be difficult to cleanse, leading to bad retention or eye infections.
- Do not tint, perm or curl your lashes while you have eyelash extensions on.
- Rince your lashes after swimming in chlorine or saltwater, as well as after exercising.
- Do not forget to book your next appointment to keep you lashes beautiful and full!
Fun Lash Facts
- The average person has anywhere from 80-150 natural eyelashes per eye.
- Every hair on our body follows a natural growth cycle. Lash cycles occur every 2 to 3 months. Each individual eyelash will reach a certain length, fall out, and then regrow. You will notice fewer lashes when you near the end a lash cycle.
- Our hair follicles also go through seasonal shedding. Eyelashes typically shed in the Spring and Fall because of temperature changes. You may notice your natural lashes looking more sparse during these seasonal changes.
- We lose between 3 to 5 lashes per day. 21 to 35 lashes in one week. 42 to 70 lashes in two weeks. 63 to 105 lashes in 3 weeks. 84 to 140 lashes in 4 weeks. This is why getting a fill is important to keeping your lashes looking full.
- Hormonal imbalances, extreme stress, antibiotics, immunosuppressants may affect the lash growth cycle. Iron deficiency or lack of nutrients will cause lash loss. Thyroid disease is known to result in poor retention. Oily skin types also experience shedding faster.
